1866
This year the Frankendroid 1 met the time-and-space traveling
adventurer/explorer/scientist Dr. Omega,* who had journeyed back to this
point in time to consult with Dr. Kenneth Frankenstein, an inventor who
was one of the more benign members of this notorious clan.
Befriending the benevolent, rogue alien synthoid being given the image
and power of the Frankenstein Monster by the Ummoans, the two felt
responsible for the Synth-Monster's welfare, and he aided Dr. Omega in
his mission to that time period.
Frankendroid 1 is deactivated and Kenneth
Frankenstein is killed soon afterwards. Dr. Omega doesn't know how to
revive the Monster without the help of Dr. Frankenstein, so he leaves the
Creature's now insensate body on a slab in Dr. Frankenstein's
laboratory, which exists within a large castle he owns in the outlying
area of southern California (Kenneth had apparently immigrated to
America, and used the alias "Frank" for his surname to avoid the infamy
connected to his genealogical name from attracting unwanted attention),
hoping the synthoid being would rest in peace there.
The only useful item
remaining in the laboratory upon Dr. Omega's departure is some
notes he had given to Dr. Kenneth Frankenstein about what society was
potentially like, both culturally and technologically, in the 20th century
(various versions of which Dr. Omega had visited frequently, including the
"mainstream" version familiar to us). This was for the purpose of aiding
Kenneth, a brilliant futurist, to design and invent various devices that Dr.
Omega felt were essential to appear on his timeline (a plan that effectively
ended with Frankenstein's unexpected death).
There the Frankendroid 1 remains in this state for roughly 100
years (see entry for 1966).
* Dr. Omega's exploits traveling through time and space, including his
excursions to one of the several bizarre alternate reality versions of Mars to
be found in various pocket universes and subject to strange physical laws
(where one of Dr. Omega's crewmates, Tiziraou, hails from)--none of which
is Barsoom, the past stomping grounds of adventurous Earthlings from the
"mainstream" reality such as John Carter and the Nyctalope--were recorded
in a series of files by Arnould Galopin, and more info on him can be found
here.
It has been speculated by several researchers that Dr. Omega may
possibly be our "mainstream" reality's counterpart of the legendary Time
Lord known simply as the Doctor, who is native to the planet Gallifrey, and
hails from another, "distant" timeline, but whom is believed to have
traveled to others, including this one, from time to time (literally, in his
case!). The numerous incarnations of the Doctor can be found in the
extensive set of reports in many different formats and from many different
chroniclers under the DOCTOR WHO master file.
Those various pocket dimension versions of Mars, many of which seem to
be quite unlike the lifeless, cold world in the universe we know, and
inhabited by sometimes multiple odd races of sentient beings, some of
which possess advanced technology capable of traversing outer space and
dimensional barriers, have been recorded in different accounts, including
Glenville Mareth's adaptation of Paul L. Jacobson's strange report SANTA
CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS.

Llanwelly, Wales Lawrence Milo Talbot and his friend Albert La
Forge graduate summa cum laude from the University of Paris.
Lawrence Milo Talbot returns to Llanwelly and opens a medical
practice, but finds that many of the villagers put more faith in superstition.
One of the causes of the villagers fear is a gypsy named Vorcla (Dracula-
Lejos' son, Bela, incognito at the time), who plans on founding a town of
werewolves by isolating Llanwelly from the rest of England via terrorizing
the town and its nearby environs.
Talbot exposes Vorcla's plans, and in turn Vorcla curses Talbot with
lycanthropy (though there is some evidence that the cursed form of

Transylvania Dracula-Prime awakens to feed and to check on the
progress of his various plans. The Lejos Clone is retired and put in
storage.
London Dracula-Prime creates an interim soul-clone, who was the
captain of a whaling ship transporting cargo to Europe, and sends him to
England to locate and murder aspiring dancer Genevieve Cox, who is a
member of a family closely related to the Tartoff lineage, thereby once
more fulfilling the Vampire Lord's ten year interval mission of vengeance
against the Tartoff clan. What became of this soul-clone afterwards is
unknown, but he is believed to have been hunted and killed by the famed

Altenburg, Switzerland Taking a break from conducting brain
transplants, Victor III savagely rapes Anna Spengler, the fiancee of his
assistant, Dr. Karl Holtz.*
New information shows that Anna survived this event and became
pregnant with Victor III's child. To ask for assistance from Victor III is out
of the question, so she sought the aid of Baron Alphonse Frankenstein
and his wife Felicia. The Baron and Baroness send Anna to the USA to
live with friends of theirs in New York City.
Anna begins a new life, giving her newborn son her own last name. A
descendant of Anna's resides in present day New York City, and as of the
early 1980s has been a member of a group similar in many ways to
MONSTAAH and its previous incarnation, the League of Anti-Diabolists,
but focusing more on the ecto-horrors of the spirit world.

USA To gain recruits, Dracula-Latos leaves the town called Purgatory
deadly effects of sunlight when applied to the skin. The drawback is that
while it permits survival in the daytime world, it does not prevent the Sun's
rays from draining the powers of a vampire. Dracula-Latos, as Rev.
Johnson, must rely on his natural gift of persuasion to attract his
disciples.
The supply of the chemical lasts Latos for three years; after that, Dr.
Pretorius moves onto other projects and cannot be troubled to make
more. The Latos Clone eventually makes his way to Texas, where he
founds a second community of vampires in the small town of Chaney.

Switzerland Victoria Marie Frankenstein becomes the apprentice of Dr.
Septimus Pretorius and Ygor, son of Dracula-Lejos. The three spend
months attempting to unravel the secrets of Victor Frankenstein I.
Transylvania Abraham and Elizabeth Van Helsing are traveling
through Transylvania. Dracula-Prime turns Elizabeth into a vampire,
forcing Abraham to slay and behead her; thus begins the Van Helsing-
Dracula war.
USA Victoria Marie Frankenstein and her cousin Rudolph flee Europe

Llanwelly, Wales Birth of Sir John Talbot of the Llanwelly branch of
the lineage to Lawrence Milo and Anne Talbot.
Texas, USA After establishing Chaney, Texas as
his second vampire community, Dracula-Latos travels further south to
seek more recruits for his vampire legion.
Switzerland Henry Frankenstein attends the University of Vienna.
Victor Frankenstein III, after somehow acquiring notes from relatives
such as Dr. Vincent Frankenstein, continues carrying out his
experiments outside the prying eyes of his countrymen. This includes a
variant formulation of Vincent's alchemical inoculations that greatly
retard the aging process; hence, he looks little physically older than his
late middle age several decades later when he next appears in the records
(see entry for 1941), and also remains in a state of good health during this
time.
Other advances of his developed during this time includes the ability to
create multiple man-made monsters that are fully subservient to his will,
many of which are monstrous in appearance, but a few who resemble
powerfully built though attractive normal human beings. He resolves to
share these reverse engineered and semi-original accomplishments with
no one else, believing that doing so in the past proved this to be a recipe
for disaster.
1884
Dr. Henry Victor Frankenstein meets and receives the patronage of the
renegade soul-clone Dracula-Vladislas,* who wants to trick
Frankenstein into creating another man-made monster as a means for the
Vampire Lord to acquire a source of living, powerful bio-energy in a
scheme for him to sire numerous vampiric offspring with his three
Vampire Brides.
* It has been conjectured that Dracula-Vladislaus may be a soul-clone of a
soul-clone (i.e., a secondary soul-clone), specifically created by the
powerful autonomous soul-clone Dracula-Mathias. More on this below in
the section for 1898.

Castle Frankenstein Henry Frankenstein continues the obsession,
Soon after this, the legendary events experienced by Dracula-Prime in
London are "transferred" to the consciousness of Dracula-Mordante. As
usual, the Mordante Clone's fractured psyche not only believed them to
be events he actually caused and participated in directly, but he also
integrated them into his memories in distorted form.
As one major example, he mutated the acquired memories of Mina Harker
as her being a resurrected lover of his, in imitation of the still fresh
memories of his ill-fated Styrian encounter with Myra (formerly Dolingen)
Price.
He wrote these events down in journal entries that were eventually
uncovered by the research of famous director Francis Ford Coppola and
translated into a screenplay by James V. Hart for a 1992 film
production.****
It should be noted that during the times when Dracula-Prime's Star Stone
ring is at or near full power, he possesses enough raw mystical energy to
overcome, within limits, certain classic vulnerabilities of his particular strain
of vampirism. For instance, during such atypical times, Dracula-Prime
can avoid going into a trance-like state during the daylight hours, and is
able to operate and move about when the Sun is out, albeit in a greatly
weakened state that deprives him of his shape-shifting abilities and at least
a large degree of his mesmeric power.
He was described doing the above in both the Dracula and Sherlock
Holmes vs. Dracula files.
Reports alleging that this is typical of both him and other vampires of the
Varnaean strain are incorrect, as there is too much information on file that
contradicts the assertions of such reports.
However, this resistance to direct sunlight, within certain limits, is indeed
a typical characteristic for vampires of the Dacian strain, or its offshoot
strain, the Sparkoi.

As explained in one story appearing in a master file entitled Dracula
Lives, published by Crestwood--Marvels Comics' magazine division from
the 1970s-- Dracula-Prime's tendency to age into an elderly physical
state when deprived of blood for lengthy periods of time as seen in the
Dracula file was a temporary situation resulting from his being previously
wounded by silver buckshot that had yet to be fully removed from his
bio-etheric torso at the time the events of the novel took place. This also
may have accounted for the other unseemly physical traits he took on when
deprived of blood during this time, such as excessive hair growth on the

known was that she evidently sought out the Vampire Lord on her own
volition to receive what she perceived to be the "gift" of vampirism. She

She had been slain and placed in a family mausoleum in the town of Bistriz
some time prior to 1887 via circumstances as yet unknown. She was very
briefly encountered outside that mausoleum by Jonathan Harker mere
seconds before she was slain again by a strange bolt of lightening. This
occurred just two days before the beginning of the events recorded in Bram
Stoker's file Dracula, as described in another, preliminary report by Stoker,
"Dracula's Guest."

The Star Stone ring is given to the Denrom Clone, and Dracula-Prime

London Upon psychically retrieving knowledge of Dracula-Prime's defeat
and temporary destruction to En Sabah Nul, the rogue Dracula-Mordante
decided to return to London himself. This author (Prof. Nero) speculates
that he is driven to return there by the conflicting memories of
Dracula-Prime that had infiltrated his psyche, unable to distinguish these
memories from those he acquired during his own actions; the psychic link
between the two remained powerful, as was typically the case with all
soul-clones, including those who went rogue.
Consequently, the Mordante Clone arrived there in one of his more
skewed states of mind. This manifested by having an involuntary effect on
his power of mesmerism, causing him to release waves of psychic energy
that resulted in every human being who saw him to perceive him with a
different age and appearance. Why it had this specific effect is unknown,
but it may have been a temporarily out-of-control aspect of a developed
ability to use his mesmerism to disguise himself during encounters with
mortals.
While there, Dracula-Mordante satiated his sanguine culinary
requirements by preying upon prostitutes and other downtrodden
residents of the city's shunned Whitechapel area who were not likely to be
missed. However, at one point he encountered the prostitute known by the
street name 'Black Mary,' whose real name was Mary Jane Kelly.
Mordante's original personality trait of yearning for love and sexual
affection caused him to be quite taken by the young Irish woman. She was
in turn quite attracted to his gentlemanly demeanor. After purchasing her
services, the two ended up deeply in love with each other. This was to end
tragically, however, as Mary became a victim of the insane Duke of
Clarence, Prince Albert "Eddy" Victor, who was one of the infamous
killers to be christened "Jack the Ripper" by the media.
Following the Vampire Lord's retaliatory conflagration with Prince Albert,
he spared his life only after the Count was confronted by Sir William
Gull, the Royal Physician Extraordinary, who explained that his coming
death from syphilis would be far worse than anything Mordante could
inflict upon him, and that he would never be able to ascend the
throne of England.*********

The Duke of Clarence was not mentioned in Prof.
Winkle's article as one of the many to take the identity
of Jack the Ripper. His syphilis-induced insanity may
have been further influenced via obsession or
possession by a "Ripper-geist" entity as described in
Prof. Winkle's article.
Also not mentioned, but of notable interest, was the
barrister Montague John Druitt, whose curious suicide
by leaping into the waters of the Thames occurred just
before the classic Ripper murders in Whitechapel had
ceased. Because of this, many books were written in
the early 20th century which hypothesized that Druitt
was the Ripper (or "a" Ripper, as the case may be).
According to Shanklin and Wheatley's report, Druitt
simply became obsessed with uncovering the truth
behind the murders, and followed Prince Albert upon
discovering his involvement.
This led to a confrontation with Dracula-Mordante during the
Vampire Lord's conflict with the Duke at the scene of
the latter's murder of Mary Jane Kelly. Dracula-
Mordante punished Druitt for his interference by
inducing complete insanity in him, which led to the
man's suicide a few days later -- this following an
intense interrogation by Dr. William Gull, who
demanded his silence about the incident for the sake
of the Royal Family.
It was noted in Prof. Winkle's article how the evil
Oriental mastermind Fu Manchu--whose exploits were
first recorded in a series of files by Sax Rohmer--was
revealed to have been responsible for creating a
series of Jack the Ripper soul-clones. This revelation
was recorded in Doug Moench's file "Red of Fang and
Claw, All Love Lost," translated to comic book format
and published in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu Vol. 1
#100 by Marvels Comics. In this 1980 incident,
Shang-Chi, the heroic legendary martial arts master,
and both son and opponent of Fu Manchu, battled one
of his sire's most recently created Ripper soul-clones.
It appears that certain amoral or emotionally disturbed
physicians were particularly likely targets for Manchu's
psychic experiments in creating soul-clones of Jack
the Ripper. This was likely due to their surgical skills
making them ideal murderers of this sort. A few of
these physicians-turned-Ripper-soul-clones by the
Yellow Peril are the following, some named in Prof.
Winkle's article, but others not; and some of whom
were embroiled in time travel incidents due to
Whitechapel circa late 1880s being a loci point for
extratemporal and extradimensional activity, as also
noted by Prof. Winkle.
Some of these notable physicians connected to the Jack the Ripper legend
are the following:
* Dr. Albert Z. Fell's activities as a Ripper soul-clone
were uncovered in the late 1970s by criminologist and
author Lorraine Peters. To confirm this theory of hers,
she utilized a time portal manifested on the mysterious
privately owned atoll Fantasy Island to travel back to
1888. This extratemporal excursion would prove to
have disastrous consequences due to Dr.
Fell finding the portal and becoming loose on the
island circa 1979. Fell was stopped from killing Peters
by Mr. Roarke, the enigmatic curator of Fantasy
Island, and died seconds after fleeing back through the
portal to 1888 when he was run over by a horse-drawn
hansom.
Fell had the chilling distinction of uttering the following
statement just before killing a victim: "I have the
remedy for all your ills." This incident was recorded in
Ron Friedman's and Don Ingalls' file "With Affection,
Jack the Ripper" (not to be confused with another file
of the same name by Dr. Michael Rhodes), which is a
sub-file of the series of files entitled FANTASY
It should be further noted that Fell's family lineage
has a long propensity for exhibiting mental instability
and criminal inclinations alongside brilliance. A good
example is Dr. Fell's great-nephew, history professor
and Egyptologist William McElroy, who developed a
dangerous and cunning criminal alter persona that
called himself King Tut. This alter persona became a
persistent recurring nemesis of the Batman and Robin
team from the late 1960s whose activity became the
subject of the various files placed under the rubric of
Batman '66.
Other relatives serving as examples include Mr.
Schubert, another evil expatriate scientist from the
advanced undersea cities branching off from Latitude
Zero. Schubert had recurrent clashes with Mark
Harris, the civilian identity of the Atlantean whose
exploits were recorded in THE MAN FROM ATLANTIS
series of files (the secret undersea city of LATITUDE
ZERO is first described in Shinichi Sekizawa's
eponymous file); a second cousin once removed
Pamise Surigao, the crafty Prohibition era liquor
smuggler who competed with the Chicago mob and
clashed with Eliot Ness' law enforcement team, as
recorded in John Mantley's file "The Gang War," a
sub-file of the file series called THE
UNTOUCHABLES; and Surigao's nephew Charles
Colvin, a California barber who during the early 1960s
had an evening "career" as a destructive pyromaniac,
as reported in John Kueubuhl's file "Firebug,"
included in a larger set of files titled G.E. True.
* Dr. John Leslie Stephenson, who absconded with
the time machine invented in the late 19th century by
Adam Bruce Clarke Wildman (a.k.a., Adam Dane),
and traveled "forward" to the year 1979--which seems
to be a natural loci point from Whitechapel circa
1888--where he was pursued and defeated by H.G.
Wells. This was recorded in Karl Alexander's and
Steve Hayes's file TIME AFTER TIME.
This time travel may have resulted in any number of
alternate timelines, and alternate versions of both
Stephenson and Wells, being diverged from the
"mainstream" iterations.These alternate versions of
Stephenson could have met different fates from the
one recorded in this file on other timelines, or even in the "mainstream"
time track, and may have taken on different identities in different locales.
* Sir William Gull, the Royal Surgeon of Queen
Victoria and neurologist who served as the personal
physician of Prince Albert "Eddy" Victor during his
decline from syphilis. Dr. Gull had acted to cover up
Prince Albert's involvement by various elaborate and
unethical means alongside the latter's wealthy close
friend James Kenneth Stephen, cab driver John
Charles Netley, and the influential Assistant
Commissioner of Scotland Yard & intelligence officer
Sir Robert Anderson. Gull's involvement caused the
murders to sometimes be directly attributed to him,
though he was certainly no innocent in the affair. More
on the Royal Family conspiracy aspect of the Ripper
murders in a minute.
* Dr. Dennis Orloff, a disturbed and embittered
physician who went mad and began killing prostitutes
in misplaced retaliation for abuse he received from his
late mother, who was also a prostitute. Orloff may
have been possessed by a discarnate Ripper-geist
personality fragment, rather than one of Manchu's
soul-clones, as he would have been an ideal host to
drive towards such vile acts. Of course, his history
would obviously have made him a perfect Ripper
soul-clone as well.The truth has yet to be
substantiated either way, however, much like many
aspects of the Ripper phenomenon. Dr. Orloff's history
was recorded in Jess Franco's file JACK THE
* Dr. John Carmody, a psychiatrist who was one of the
individuals to take up the mantle of Jack the Ripper.
His story was documented by Robert Bloch, specifically in
his report "Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper." Carmody
was hunted for a good ten years, beginning
around 1930, by Scotland Yard detective Sir Guy
Hollis after the killer murdered his fiance'. This
decade-long obsessive hunt led Hollis to New York
City's Greenwich Village circa 1940, where the killer
now taking the guise of Carmody unfortunately got the
drop on the detective and killed him.
According to Hollis' theory, the man he later knew as
Carmody was a physician who also happened to be a
mystic practicing in the dark arts, and the classic six
victims attributed to Jack the Ripper were the initial
blood sacrifices required to grant him a form of limited
immortality, along with possibly other attributes such
as enhanced strength. He apparently either needed to
continue killing to offer "booster" sacrifices so as to
maintain the pact with these unknown "dark gods,"
or continued to do so simply for the sadistically pleasurable
"rush" he received from doing this like so many other serial
killers.
There may be truth to Hollis' theory, or it's
possible Carmody was an already emotionally
disturbed physician who was possessed by a
Ripper-geist entity. What became of Carmody after
this incident has yet to be determined. Practitioners of the black arts
who took sacrificial victims under grisly ritualistic circumstances for various
benefits from dark entities, and thus became identified with Jack the
Ripper, is a category covered in Prof. Winkle's essay.
Bloch's report was later adapted into different formats
by other researchers. This includes the comic book
format:
Ron Goulart's file, published in both Journey Into
Mystery Vol. 2 #2 and Masters of Terror #1 by Marvels
Comics; and Joe R. and John L. Lansdale in Yours
Truly, Jack the Ripper #1-3 by IDW Comics.
Another version of Bloch's report was
recorded by Barre Lyndon and told by actor and
conscripted horror host Boris Karloff as the Yours
Truly, Jack the Ripper sub-file of his master file
THRILLER (this is connected to but not the same as
the horror host's other master file Boris Karloff's
Thriller, quickly changing its file name to Boris
Karloff's Tales of Mystery, published between the early
1960s to the end of the 1970s by Gold Key Comics).
The previously mentioned temporal and interdimensional incursions and
excursions revolving individuals connected to the Jack the Ripper
phenomenon likely caused numerous alternate timelines
to branch off from the event, thus resulting in a
seemingly endless array of Jack the Ripper
counterparts of every category listed by Prof. Winkle.
Some of these alternate reality counterparts and
events were likely conflated with the already numerous
"mainstream" versions of the Ripper by unwary
psychics "studying" all relevant events and individuals
by means of remote viewing and psychometry. Their
notes and journals then likely resulted in more
conflation and confusion by other investigators, thus
making an already extremely complex phenomenon all
the more complicated and seemingly convoluted.
This is to say nothing of the disparate iterations of the
Ripper from alternate timelines who may have found
themselves summoned to the "mainstream" timeline
by various means at different points in time, thus
muddying the waters even further. Hence, sifting
through all the sources and files to uncover the
relevant facts in regards to "mainstream" history is a
major challenge for even the most top notch
investigators and researchers, with the myriad trails
MONSTAAH agent and scholars Prof. Gregory
Long has surmised that Dr. Stephenson's
seemingly fatal dispersion across the timestream
courtesy of H.G. Wells may have had repercussions
across the multiverse, causing at least some of
the temporal divergences resulting in numerous and
disparate versions of Jack the Ripper as described in
Prof. Winkle's article. This could explain several of the
multiple conflicting accounts and apparent individuals
to take on the mantle of the Ripper, each providing
"evidence" to different researchers that they were the
"true" Jack the Ripper.
It's also possible, as per Prof. Long's theories,
that Dr. Stephenson's dispersed physical form could
have materialized back in his native time period as the
evil disembodied entity who became known as Redjac.
This entity literally feeds on the potent psychic energies
generated by fear and terror. "He" has possessed
different human beings whom "he" forced
to commit acts of horrific murder fitting the same
patterns as those of his previous human incarnation in
order to produce society-wide fear to sustain "his"
non-corporeal existence.
If multiple dimensional versions of Redjac materialized
in different places due to this temporal dispersion,
then they could have become responsible for at least
some of the evil and murderous disembodied
possessing beings that Prof. Winkle referred to as the
Ripper-geist entities.
Other theories have postulated that Redjac is of
extraterrestrial origin, either singular in nature or a
race of such beings who travel throughout the cosmos
to worlds inhabited by sentient material beings whom
they can possess to wreak their grisly fear-inducing
havoc. This theory originated with a 'future file'
psychically compiled by the late Robert Bloch that he
titled Wolf in the Fold. According to the alternate future
events recorded in this file - presuming they ever actually end up
"occurring" in any shape or form (though time is not actually linear,
and all future events on any given timeline have
indeed "occurred" in a strange quantum sense, but
that's a whole other topic) - the Redjac entity is/will be
encountered on a humanoid-inhabited planet called
Argelius II circa late 23rd century.
Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean
that Redjac originated in deep space. Rather, the
dread entity may simply have stowed/will stow away
on a human and/or other race's starships in certain
alternate futures where interstellar travel becomes
feasible and commonplace.
Regarding the Redjac entity, "he" is known to have
been on Earth into the 1970s, where "he" was
encountered and defeated on at least two known
occasions -- once by the reporter Carl Kolchak, as
recorded in Rudolph Borchert's report The Ripper, a
sub-file of the master file called KOLCHAK: THE
NIGHT STALKER; and again by crusading adventurer
Gary Seven and his assistant Roberta Lincoln while
possessing and enhancing a human being on the other
side of the world, as recorded in Greg Cox's two
volume file The Eugenics Wars: The Rise and Fall of
Khan Noonian Singh.
It was evidently first discovered by Kolchak that humans possessed by the
entity were vulnerable to high voltage electricity, which may disrupt the
electromagnetic tethers between the entity's disembodied form and the
bio-electricity of the host's neural synapses to which "he" tethers "himself."
Short-term exposure will render the being temporarily inactive,
causing the host to seemingly lose consciousness
during that time. Repeated exposure will kill the human
host and drive Redjac out of them in short order (Kolchak had no idea that
the human killer was possessed by a discarnate energy being, and instead
proposed another theory that betrayed his lack of information).
Several other researchers have focused their detective
work on uncovering the Jack the Ripper copycat (or
copycats?) connected to the always scandal-ridden
British Royal Family of the late Victorian era. Particularly,
this includes Prince Albert, as noted above, after he
went murderously mad during the advanced stages
of the then-incurable venereal disease syphilis.
The Royal Family conspiracy aspect of the Ripper
murders was uncovered and described in Stephen
Knight's file Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution
(though it was, of course, simply one amongst many
"solutions"). Knight further contended that the
conspirators involved were members of the
Freemasons, and that their involvement was partially
the result of some forbidden rituals conducted by at
least a corrupt, mystically inclined sub-set of the
organization's wealthy members.
This conspiracy was further elaborated upon in other
sources, including the file Blood of the Innocent
described above; Alan Moore's file From Hell (later
made into an altered version in movie format); Peter
Barnes's file THE RULING CLASS; Derrik Marlowe's
and David Wickes's 2-part file JACK THE RIPPER;
and Robert Rodat's file THE RIPPER.
The legendary detective Sherlock Holmes has been
attributed with uncovering portions of this conspiracy
as well. However, it's believed that, in actuality,
various other detectives imitating his methods and
gaining a reputation of their own by doing so were
actually involved, and had these cases later
mis-attributed to Holmes by certain biographers.
MONSTAAH has agent Prof. James Bojaciuk's research to thank for this
clarification.
It can be certain that the real Sherlock Holmes took an
interest in the Ripper murders, but due to the
complexity of the phenomenon, it's likely his
investigations took him on the trail of specific
participants prior to building a theory of the true
immensity of the variables (and entities) involved. The
same thing likely occurred with the various Holmes
imitators who took up the case, either at the time or
afterwards.
Other factions of the Royal Family had a history of
crime and insanity that led to murders of women, often
prostitutes, that in time were conflated with the main
Ripper murders by the various biographers.
These other homicidal and misogynistic killers from
the Royal Family allegedly included the Duke of
Shires, whose case was solved by master detective
Hercule Poirot and mis-attributed to Sherlock Holmes
in Donald and Derek Ford's file A STUDY IN
The latter case was later taken up by the American
master detective Ellery Queen, who was hired by a
client to "clear' the name of the original suspect; this
was described in Paul W. Fairman's file A Study in
Terror: Ellery Queen vs. Jack the Ripper. A casual
study of both files make it quite clear that a case of
alternative murders was conflated with the main
Ripper murders by the biographers, and it's still not
certain at this time if Poirot or Queen were correct in
their differing conclusions of the Duke of Shires'
involvement in Victorian era atrocities.
An actual investigation conducted by the authentic
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson is said to
have uncovered the conspiracy surrounding the Duke
of Clarence's complicity in some of the Ripper
murders, as recorded in John Hopkins's file MURDER
BY DECREE. Interestingly, Inspector G. Lestrade was
involved with both the Poirot and authentic Holmes
investigations. Watson's recording of the event may
have been stifled by royal decree to both Scotland
Yard and the London media, only to later be
reconstructed from notes uncovered by Hopkins.
At least one other Dracula soul-clone has alluded to an
encounter with Jack the Ripper, but it's currently
unknown which version of the Ripper this may have
been; the implication seemed to be that it was one of
the fully human copycats.
At least one version of Jack the Ripper is vampiric,
which likely explains several periodic reports of
Ripper-like murders continuing sporadically into the
present time, along with contributing to the rumors that
the Ripper is immortal.
The most prominent vampire to take the mantle of
Jack the Ripper began his career as a fully human
serial killer copycat, only to be vampirized and
subjugated by Countess Elisabeth Bathory, a.k.a., the
Blood Countess, during her visit to London circa 1888.
He has likely acted independently of the Countess during the
times she was "indisposed" between the late 19th
century and the present, and at other times serving
her will directly.
Most recently, the Vampire Ripper aided
Countess Bathory during her 2010 encounter
with Vampirella and Jonathan Collins (vampiric cousin
to Barnabas Collins) in New York City, as recorded in
Mark Andreyko's file published by Dynamite Comics
as Dark Shadows/Vampirella #1-5. The soul-clone
Dracula-Mordante had a brief but important role in the
conclusion of these events; for more info on his
involvement, see the entry for 2010.
It should also be noted that Jonathan Collins was misidentified with his
more famous but similarly cursed cousin Barnabas in this file, as
uncovered by the research of MONSTAAH agent Prof. Zahir Blue.
Of course, there are so many different theories and
files dealing with the phenomenon and personages
said to have taken the mantle of Jack the Ripper that
it's impossible to cover all of them here for reasons of
space and maintenance of topic. Other researchers
connected to MONSTAAH have conducted extensive
research and formulated their own theories, which will
be revealed in due course. The mysterious and bloody
phenomenon that is Jack the Ripper is too complex
and full of divergent branches of evidence for
MONSTAAH to decree any one particular theory to be
definitively "correct" over every other.
Shanklin and Wheatley's file makes a few errors, such
as mistakenly confusing Dracula-Mordante with
Dracula-Prime, and describing the main individual
responsible for the latter's destruction as "Dr.
Jonathan Harker." Harker, of course, was not a
physician nor did he have a doctorate degree, and
even though he did have a major hand in ending
Dracula-Prime's infamous 1887 reign of terror in
London, the effort was coordinated by Dr. Abraham
Van Helsing -- who was indeed a physician.
Soho, England A mysterious file edited by the late Roger Zelazny,
which claims to be authored by a canine named Snuff (???)*, reveals that
on October 31, 1894, a strange gathering of extraordinary personalities
occurs.
* Snuff was described in the report as being a sentient animal familiar of
one of the many simultaneously existing dimensional iterations of Jack the
Ripper, this version being one of the major players in this "Lonesome
October" event. Most other major players in this event were likewise
accompanied and assisted by animal familiars of various species.

Transylvania Lawrence Van Helsing sends Paul Harker, a cousin of
Jonathan Harker, to Castle Dracula after hearing rumors that the Count
was indeed not destroyed. The agent gains employment as Dracula's
librarian.
Dracula-Denrom discovers the agent's ruse and turns him into a vampire.
Lawrence Van Helsing journeys to Transylvania when he receives a letter
from Paul.
Van Helsing discovers that Paul has been turned and mercifully
destroys him. Dracula and Van Helsing battle until Van Helsing turns
Dracula-Denrom to ashes by exposing him to sunlight.
When this report, entitled HORROR OF DRACULA, was written by
agent Sangster. along with his Frankenstein files, he did not have the full
story, so he embellished the report with elements from the memoirs edited
by Bram Stoker. Sangster also mistakenly gave the date of this event as
1885, This was corrected by a member of the Van Helsing family.

This would not be the last time that Dracula-Denrom attempted to create
soul-clones of his own using the Star Stone ring. Other soul-clones, such
as Dracula-Lejos, Dracula-Rominoff, Dracula-Mordante, Dracula-
Mathias, and Dracula-Adrian, would likewise create soul-clones of their

was actually possible due to various astrological factors--thus tipping the
balance between good and evil over the Earth in favor of evil.
Nevertheless, Dracula-Rominoff was stopped by an unknown
member of the Van Helsing clan and a group of vampire hunters he led in
a direct assault on one of the castles owned by Dracula-Prime. This
member of the Van Helsing family ended up stranded unaging in a
void-like realm called Limbo despite the success of the mission.
A hundred years later, when the correct astrological forces in the universe
were again extant, this particular soul-clone would once more attempt to
locate and destroy the 'Amulet of Good,' only to be foiled by the Monster
Squad.*
The original Frankenstein Monster is discovered frozen in the Arctic
again by the grandson of Captain Robert Walton, who accidentally
revives the Monster, which results in the sequence of events chronicled in
The Monster Of Frankenstein #1-5/The Frankenstein Monster #6, all
compiled by Marvels Comics. The first four files feature a somewhat
altered re-telling of the events of the Monster's origin and early history
amidst a framing sequence involving Walton's grandson and his crew,
whereas the following issues depict some of the Monster's subsequent
exploits in this time period, including a battle with a female werewolf, and
another with a fierce, unidentified primitive tribe of hominid.
The black and white prologue sequence of VAN HELSING takes place,
where the soul-clone Dracula-Vladislaus slays his benefactor Dr. Henry
Victor Frankenstein immediately after he brings another Monster to life
at the behest of the Vampire Lord.
A distant relative of the Dracula lineage who is only known by his
forename Igor, and who also happened to be an alchemist, recovered the
casket where the remains of Dracula-Denrom were extant. Reviving the
vampire in the hope of gaining control over him, Dracula-Denrom instead
turned the tables on Igor and transformed him into a soul-clone, hoping to
use whatever talents he had on his behest during the brief time the
Denrom Clone was free from Dracula-Prime's control. The result was
Like Baron Meinster before him, Dracula-Igorus believed himself to be
an acolyte of Dracula-Denrom, albeit of familial nature, and he thus
referred to himself as 'Igor Dracula.'
Unique about Dracula-Igorus amongst all the soul-clones was his interest
in learning how to transfer the curse of vampirism to non-humanoid
animals, which he felt would be very useful on many levels to him. He
utilized certain alchemical means to grant himself the ability to transfer his
vampirism to non-sentient animals, his first experiment being a simple
domestic cow named Bessie by her owners. This proved successful, with
the bovine becoming a blood-lusting vampiric creature who would later be
dubbed the "Hellcow," and who would be dispatched by the
extradimensonal anthropomorphic waterfowl known as Howard the Duck
shortly he was trapped on the Earth dimension in 1974.**
After a few initial experiments that included Bessie, Dracula-Igorus
transformed his loyal dog Zoltan into an animal vampire, but the two of
them--along with Igor's loyal vampiric servant, Veidt Smith--were soon
hunted down and staked by Lorimar Van Helsing and a few other agents
working with him.
The remains of Dracula-Igorus were entombed by agents
working for Dracula-Denrom in a private graveyard reserved for members
of the Dracula clan, where he believed they would stay hidden for
possible further usage. Entombed elsewhere in that graveyard for the
same reason were the remains of Zoltan and Veidt Smith, both of whom
would be revived in the following century.

embellished, such as the depiction of Bessie possessing shape-shifting
powers (something Dracula-Denrom and the soul-clones created by him
never displayed) and wearing a cape (though it's possible Bessie may have
developed these attributes through unknown means over the course of
many decades). And of course, other details included in this timeline were
left out of that story.

Following this incident, the Monster has an altercation with another
relative of his creator, Dr. Vincent Frankenstein, who tries to exploit the
Creature for his own purposes with the assistance of Ivan,** a hunchback
who had been surgically enhanced by Frankenstein to give him physical
power comparable to that of the Monster.
This leads to the Monster going into suspended animation again, from
which he wakes up for brief periods throughout the early 20th century
prior to a rather lengthy sojourn of conscious activity throughout the 1970s
and early-to-mid-1980s.***
London Now divorced from her husband, Mina Murray (formerly
Harker) joins the League of Extraordinary Gentleman and battles the
villains known as Prof. James Moriarty and Fu Manchu.****
The events of the movie VAN HELSING following the black and white
prologue sequence occur.
What relationship the immortal warrior of the Vatican called Gabriel Van
Helsing has with the entirely mortal but equally formidable Van Helsing
family we are familiar with has not yet been determined; however, the
similar vocation does suggest that some type of connection is
possible.*****
In this exploit, Gabriel Van Helsing arrives in Transylvania on a mission to
battle a particularly dangerous Dracula soul-clone called Dracula-
Vladislaus, who has developed a highly unusual way of reproducing
progeny. There is some conjecture that the Vladislaus soul-clone may
be a soul-clone of a soul-clone, specifically the creation of the powerful
soul-clone called Dracula-Mathias--see the file Castlevania Timeline by
our agent known as the Acolyte. The fanciful, almost Biblical origin
account that Dracula-Vladislaus gave of his genesis, along with the
mystical origins of his enmity with the Valerious family, were quite
possibly apocryphal.
While in Transylvania, Gabriel Van Helsing encounters another
man-made monster who may have been the final creation of Henry
Frankenstein before he died (possibly killed by Dracula-Vladislaus), and
joins forces with the remnants of another vampire-hunting family, the
Valerious clan, this one having a long-standing holy mission of attempting
to destroy Dracula-Vladislaus, much as the legendary Belmont family
traditionally put their efforts towards battling and destroying Dracula-
Mathias. One of the remaining members of the Valerious family, Velkan,
is cursed with lycanthropy and becomes a hazard for Gabriel Van
Helsing, even infecting him with the curse temporarily; however, this
ended up working to the monster hunter's advantage, since apparently for
some reason the Vladislaus soul-clone could only be killed by a
werewolf. As far as our research staff is aware, Dracula-Vladislaus was
destroyed for good by Gabriel Van Helsing and the Valerious family
during this exploit.
However, Velkan's heroic sister Anna Valerious sacrificed her life to cure
Gabriel Van Helsing of his lycanthropy, and to help destroy Dracula-
Vladislaus. By doing the latter, she apparently ended the mystical
imperative that all of her family members could not ascend into Heaven
after death unless the Vladislaus soul-clone was finally destroyed
(again, there may have been more to this situation than meets the
proverbial eye). The Monster--who was benevolent, intelligent, and not a
threat to human beings--took to a raft and sailed away from Transylvania
peacefully, and what happened to him after that is not known at this
writing.
Elsewhere in Europe, the Rominoff Clone encounters the notorious
Aurelius vampire Spike for the first time, along with
his two female vampiric paramours, Drusilla and Darla. This occurs when
the latter three make an unexpected assault on the Kalderash tribe under
Dracula-Rominoff's protection, slaughtering the entire camp, including
the Vampire Lord's favorite amongst them, the now elderly sorceress
Magda. Upon discovering his atrocity, Dracula-Rominoff declares
himself the mortal enemy of Spike, and hunts him to London with a plan
of revenge.
Proving that the Vampire Lord's power of mesmerism could control the
wills of even vampires from an entirely different strain (such as the
demonic strain that Spike and his two vamped paramours belong to),
Dracula-Rominoff kidnaps Drusilla and Darla in a plot to hurt and insult
Spike in the same manner as he himself was slighted by killing his two
female companions. In the midst of the conflagration that resulted, Spike
manages to rescue Drusilla and Darla from Dracula-Rominoff's
clutches, though the two would meet and clash with each other several
more times between then and the year 2003.******
