1796

Prague Victor Frankenstein's Monster travels to Prague, hoping to find

peace. Instead he finds Dracula-Prime, who seeks to make a minion of

him.

This was the first meeting between these two creatures. After

a monumental battle, Dracula's plans to have the Monster under his

control are thwarted, and the Creature flees from the ways of

humankind.* Dracula-Prime becomes obsessed with the idea of the

Monster, or one like it, as an integral pawn in his diabolical schemes.

Poland Birth of Count Inre Wolfstein to Countess Wolfenstein and the

drifter known as Andreas.**

Hamburg Victor Saville is born; he is the son of Victor Frankenstein I

and the unnamed tavern girl. He is found in Hamburg by Captain Robert

Walton and raised in London by the Captain's sister, Margaret Saville.***

Geneva Birth of Aloysius Henry Victor Frankenstein to Carlos

Frankenstein by local noblewoman Karenina Ward. A distant relative of

Victor Frankenstein I who was of Mexican birth, Carlos returned to his

family's native land for his medical education, since he displayed obvious

signs of his lineage's notorious genius in the biological sciences, courtesy

of the main branch of the Frankenstein clan's generous financial support.

Nevertheless, once his family name was severely besmirched by the work

of Victor--work that the less than scrupulous Carlos was fascinated with--

Carlos would leave his Swiss wife and young son behind to return to his

native Mexico, later adding to his lineage's infamy there with his own

activities.

Germany Ernest Frankenstein leaves Geneva and founds the village of

Frankenstein, Germany.

On the hills overlooking this village, Castle Frankenstein is built.

Somehow, the original Frankenstein Monster learns of a fortune left to

the rightful heir of his creator, Victor Frankenstein I, and as the "child" of

the medical student, he decides this money rightfully belongs to him.

He therefore returns to Geneva to claim it.

However, upon returning, he runs afoul of the infamous vampire

Angelus--a member of a very ancient demonic strain of vampire known as

the Turokian strain*, which is quite different in origin but similar in many

features to Dracula-Prime's strain--at a point in time well before Angelus

had his soul restored to him via a gypsy curse, and thus was still quite evil

(much later after having his soul restored, he would become the

crusading hero of Sunnydale and later Los Angeles, California from the

late 1990s onwards known as Angel).

Angelus was likewise attempting to claim the Frankenstein fortune by

posing as a member of the clan named Wilhelm Frankenstein. The

Monster and Angelus cross paths and end up battling each other, only

for both of them to discover that the fortune had long since been whittled

away as a result of the remaining members of Victor Frankenstein I's

family paying off the huge debts that both he and his father had

incurred.**

Following this disastrous excursion, the Monster heads back to the Arctic

in a fit of despondency.

Watchers, rather than members of famous vampire hunting families such

many other files by various chroniclers that have been published in 'comic

Mexico Dr. Carlos Frankenstein, a distant cousin of Victor Frankenstein

I, discovers one of his cousin's journals, and using the techniques he

studied within, creates one of the many copycat Monsters, this one

known as Orlak. Carlos initially has full control over this Monster, and

uses the creature to wreak havoc on a nearby Mexican city.*

Victor Frankenstein's Monster is reported traveling through an Arctic

polar opening, possibly leading to the Earth's core. There, he discovers

dimensional portals leading to a variety of apparently subterranean inner

worlds which he believes to be physically located "inside" the Earth, and

he explores them all.**

One of these portals leads to the mythical realm known as Toyland, and

the Monster finds not only acceptance from its strange denizens, but love

from the Queen of Toyland, who declares him her king. He stays there for

a time,*** until for reasons as yet unknown he leaves the realm, perhaps

by inadvertently stepping through another portal.

Upon leaving Toyland, the Monster exits through a portal that leads him

back to the Earth dimension, albeit in the Antarctic, directly in the area

known as the Mountains of Madness.**** He quickly makes his way

back to Geneva from there.

in the back of agent Alan Moore's file, The League of

Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 2.

Prof. Chuck Loridans has expressed a theory that the original Frankenstein

Monster has since had a strong subconscious yearning to return to

Toyland, despite the fact that he has lost all conscious memories of it due

to further damage to his brain due to subsequent lengthy sojourns in icy

suspended animation. This would explain why the Monster

periodically returns to the Arctic, and why he has been found frozen there

on so many occasions.

The original Frankenstein Monster likely had other exploits during this time,

accounting for why he subsequently turned up in different parts of the

world, only to later end up trekking back to the Arctic due to his

aforementioned subconscious yearning to again find the portal leading to

Toyland.

Transylvania A Chinese wizard named Kah travels to Castle Dracula to

seek Dracula-Prime's help in reviving The 7 Golden Vampires.

Dracula-Prime turns him into a soul-clone, places the Star Stone ring on

his finger, and sends him to China, where he takes his rule over the

vampires indigenous to that region of Asia.*

Spain and France Dracula-Prime encounters and battles Don de la

Diego Vega, a.k.a., the famous masked sword-wielding hero known as

Zorro.*

Transylvania Seeking to create a soul-clone to rule Africa,

Dracula-Prime welcomes Prince Mamuwalde to his castle. Prince

Mamuwalde has come seeking aid to end the slave trade.

Dracula-Prime finds Mamuwalde's will to be too strong for his purposes,

however. Flying into a rage, he insults Mamuwalde's wife, kills her, and

turns Mamuwalde into a vampire, cursing him with the name

Blacula, and entombing him in Castle Dracula.

Transylvania Dracula-Prime, seeking to create human progeny,

reanimates the Lejos soul-clone (sans ring), and returns once more to

hibernation.

Dracula-Lejos searches until he encounters Maleva Blasko, the

gypsy. She turns out be a mate of superior stock, capable of breeding with

the Lord of the Undead.

There is possibility that Maleva is connected with the immortal Ayesha,

She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed and the Cult of Isis.The gypsy tribe to which

she belonged might have been the Kalderash clan, the tribe which cursed

the notorious vampire Angelus by restoring his soul, and whose later

slaughter by another Turokian vampire, Spike, precipitated the ongoing

enmity between him and Dracula-Rominoff, who considered the Kalderash

tribe to be under his protection.

Blackmoor, England Birth of John Talbot, a distant cousin of Sir John

Talbot who would later give birth to Lawrence Stewart Talbot, to

unknown parents. The John Talbot born this year would also eventually

be knighted, and like other branches of the Talbot family, he was carrying

the genome that gave him the potential to develop the cursed version of

lycanthropy. These two branches of the infamous Talbot family are

believed, as per research from Prof. Steven Pertwillaby, to have split

off from each other in the family genealogy at some point in the 16th

century, noted by the fact that one had his ancestral home in Blackmoor,

England, whereas the other Sir John Talbot had his ancestral home in

Llanwelly, Wales.

Virginia, USA Victor Saville, while seeking to obtain his father's

notebook detailing the secrets of life and death, encounters and foils the

plans of Victor I's Monster.

However, in the end the Monster escapes with the notebook, and

Saville's fiancee', Felicia, dies in this conflict.*

Birth of Abraham Van Helsing, known variously as Herr Doktor Van

Helsing of the University of Leyden, Professor Van Helsing of Trinity

College, Oxford University, and Baron Van Helsing of Bistritz.

New York, USA Victor Saville, who for various reasons was now going

under the name Frankenstein,* marries Constance Bundy, daughter of

American C. Silas Bundy.

Transylvania Birth of Ygor to Dracula-Lejos and Maleva.

Since Ygor was the first product of the mating between a soul-clone and a

human, the child was born with the deformity known as a hunchback.

Dracula took measures to assure that this would not happen in future

couplings.

Ygor's malformed appearance does, however, inspire Dracula to make his

first born's mission, when he becomes an adult, to infiltrate the

Frankenstein family, learn their secrets, and use this knowledge to one

day create an army of monsters akin to Victor Frankenstein I's Creation.

Dracula provides Ygor with a leather pouch of bolts, made from the

same Star Stone that is a part of his ring. He also makes other

implements from the ferrous material of the Star Stone, including thick

plates.

Transylvania While in charge of Dracula-Prime's now extensive library of

occult and other highly valuable esoteric lore during the latter's

hibernation, the Lejos Clone decides to recruit a mortal curator/librarian to

look after his literary treasure trove during his absences. He is given notice

of several possible candidates by a group of his gypsy minions whom he

appoints to this task, and he ultimately chooses a non-indigenous

European scholar named Tartoff.

Thrilled beyond words by this quite extraordinary job, Tartoff performs this

task quite well for the next ten years, managing to earn the Vampire

Lord's trust in the process.

Paris The original Frankenstein Monster accosts author Victor Hugo,

wanting the writer to introduce him to Quasimodo, a.k.a., the Hunchback

of Notre-Dame, whom Hugo wrote a book about.

Since Hugo noted that Quasimodo lived hundreds of years ago,

according to the notes he acquired to write the book, the Monster

consulted mystical aid from the sorcerer/alchemist Dr. Faustus, who had

been given his tremendous level of power due to a deal with the demon

lord Mephistopheles, a.k.a., Mephisto.

Faustus sent the Monster back to Quasimodo's native time period,

where he not only encountered the Hunchback, but also Dracula-Prime,

who had evidently also traveled to Paris in at least one alternate timeline

branching off from this one shortly after first becoming a vampire to make

a deal with Quasimodo: He would revive his beloved Esmeralda as a

vampire if the Hunchback became one of his servants for life.

Mistaking the presence of his old enemy as an attack on Quasimodo, the

Monster battled the Vampire Lord, with the result being that the plans of

all three beings were ruined, and the Monster was soon restored to

his own time period.*

A few years after this, author Alexandre Dumas had a self-induced psychic

vision--at Victor Hugo's request--where he saw the second of at least two

entirely different outcomes of the extratemporal factors surrounding the

Frankenstein Monster's arrival in Quasimodo's time period and presence:

one in which the Monster never appeared and Dracula-Prime succeeded in

reviving Esmeralda as promised; and a divergent past where the Monster

did indeed arrive as mentioned above, thus causing the ruination of the

plans that all three monstrous beings had.

The viewing of two separate pasts underscores the divergence

caused by the extratemporal arrival of the Monster. Hence, it's possible

that both of Dumas' visions observed an alternate, divergent timeline,

either or neither of which may be the "actual" past of Quasimodo following

the death of Esmeralda as it occurred in the "mainstream" past.

Europe Dracula-Rominoff meets and becomes enamored of a young

gypsy girl named Magda, a member of the fabled Romani clan known as

the Kalderash, and she with him. Already displaying great mystical

potential, Magda quickly becomes a mistress of the system of mystical

arts known to the Kalderash.

Though he had the opportunity to make Magda his willing

bride, Dracula-Rominoff instead saw greater potential for her, and he

declared this sect of the Kalderash--whom he shared blood kinship

with--to be under his sacred protection. Over the following decades,

Magda would teach the Rominoff Clone much about the occult.*
